Information Technology (5 cr)

Objectives (course unit)

Students are able to use the computer and office applications in a diversified and responsible manner. They know how to act in the information technology environment of TAMK, and have basic knowledge of information security.

The student
- is able to work in the IT environment of TAMK
- can use word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation graphics software in a diversified manner
- knows the main operating principles of computers
- is familiar with computer security practices

Content (course unit)

How to work in the IT environment of TAMK?
How are documents produced using word processing functions in a diversified manner?
How are graphic presentations made using the advanced layout and design features of the presentation graphics program?
What are the operational principles and advanced features of the spreadsheet program?
How can office applications be used in combination with each other?
How to use the software and operating system securely?

Evaluation methods and criteria

Toteutus suoritetaan näyttötehtävillä, jotka voivat olla esim. oman työpaikan kehittämistehtäviä.
