Objectives (course unit)

Student is able to use linear and non-linear storytelling.
Student is able to develop ideas with texts and images. Student is able to collaborate in an international student team.

Content (course unit)

Student makes a video project by using linear or non-linear storytelling.
Student makes a presentation of the structural decisions made in their moving image project.

Assessment methods and criteria

5 Excellent
At least 80 % attendance on contact lessons. Student can articulate their visions and opinions with a clear structure and in fluent English. Student shows that they have an excellent knowledge in the area of the subject of the course and that they have a good over all view of the contemporary art contextcontext. Student uses fluently determinations and vocabulary of the subject. Student knows principles and practices of artistic methods and practices. The artistic project made in the course shows profound thinking and the expression is finessed in detail.

Good quality in all tasks, all tasks delivered, active participation.
At least 80 % attendance in contact lessons. Student can articulate their visions and opinions in principle. Student shows that they have knowledge in the area of the subject of the courses and that they have a good over all view of the context. The artistic project made in the course shows critical thinking and the project has been made successfully.

Further information

Requirements: Fluent spoken and written English, Introduction to Moving Image -course passed, student has skills to discuss basic contemporary art methods and basic understanding of discourses on contemporary art theories.
Courses of Moving Image –module in Fine Art programme are planned for the Fine Art path –students, which means that they are not courses to learn technical skills in the first hand, quite on the contrary they emphasize critical thinking, careful planning of a project as well as experimental approach in producing a moving image project to the contemporary art scene.
Students are encouraged to work as a team in order to learn to collaborate and help each other as visual artists do in their artists’ collectives. One of the teaching methods is problem based learning, which develops skills to find creative solutions in a video project.
