Data Communication (4 cr)

Objectives (course unit)

Students are able to:
- Apply appropriate calculation methods for data transfer applications.
- Understand basic analogue modulation methods and systems.
- Specify linear and non-linear systems.
- Understand the the functions of a wireless communication system block diagram.

Content (course unit)

Analog modulation and demodulation, linear and non-linear systems, distortion, interference, filters, receiver and transmitter architectures, frequency synthesis, radio frequency measurements.

Evaluation methods and criteria

Opintojakso arvioidaan asteikolla 0-5.
Opintojaksosta järjestetään kaksi (2) välikoetta, joiden pisteiden perusteella määräytyy opintojakson arvosana.
Kurssi sisältää pakollisia tehtäviä, joilla myös mahdollisuus korottaa pistepottia ja edelleen mahdollisesti arvosanaa. Tarkemmat speksit annetaan kurssin alussa.
