Objectives (course unit)

The students develop the written and oral communication skills needed in their profession and expand their professional vocabulary.

Content (course unit)

English for building services engineering.
Pertinent writing and special characteristics of technical writing.
Information acquisition from English sources of the field.
Trade fair and conference practices and business communication.
Developing professional oral presentation.
Describing a product as well as the production and work processes.
Product presentation.

Exam schedules

There will be no final exams. Short quizzes, class participation and completion of the tasks are taken into consideration during evaluation.

Läsnäolovelvollisuus 80% lähiopetustunneista. Läsnäoloa ei voi korvata ylimääräisillä tehtävillä tms. eikä tenttimällä.

Student complete the all the assignments but submit them late, take part in about 80% of lectures.

Student complete the assignments and submit them on time, take part in about 80% of lectures. Show control and understanding of the content. Participate in class activities and exhibit control in oral skills

Assessment criteria - excellent (5) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

Student complete the assignments and submit them on time, take part in about 80% of lectures. Show control and understanding of the content. Participate in class activities and exhibit absolute control in both oral and written skills.
