Objectives (course unit)

The course covers theories, approaches and techniques for recruitment, management, maintenance and development of a performance based human resources for contemporary multicultural- and multiskilled organizations.

After completing of the course, the students will be able to:

Perform basic functions of HRM; staffing, training, development, motivation and maintenance.
Define long term HR needs for a company.
Manage contacts with labor union concerning different company issues.
Deal with multicultural and multi-skilled workforce.
Integrate effectively ICT to HRM.

How to conduct HR plan based on company strategy?
How to perform HR functions like staffing, training, development, motivation and maintenance?
What is the impact of culture on HR management?
How ICT has been changing the nature of organization and its impact on HRM?

This is a contact lesson based course so attendance is obligatory for learning point of view because during lectures we will have different kind of exercises.

Practical training and working life cooperation

Everyone should find individually a company which will be the base for course assignment. Each participant has to write an essay called HRM in practice and this project must be based on a real company.

Assessment criteria - satisfactory (1-2) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

Essay is short. Connection to the company exist, but only on declaratory level. No theoretical part in view. Improvements for operations are missing. No own opinion. Mistakes in appearance of essay. References has not been used.

Assessment criteria - good (3-4) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

Essay is connected well with the company and there are some improvements. Essay is structured. Theoretical part is in view someh how. Some mistakes in reference marks, but refeneces has been used.

Assessment criteria - excellent (5) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

Essay is connected excellent with the company. Many improvements. Good and relevant sources. Essay is very well structured. Theoretical part is excellently connected with essay. Own opinions. References have marked almost right.
