Objectives (course unit)
The students know the principles of industrial processing and upgrading methods of plastics and elastics. The course strengthens the students’ professional skills.
Content (course unit)
Processing plastics: extrusion, injection moulding/Reaction Injection Moulding, blow forming, calendaring and production methods of reinforced plastics. Processing elastics: compounds, extrusion, moulding, calendaring, vulcanization and finishing. Equipment used in examining polymers.
Exam schedules
Are fixed at the beginning of the cource. First test 29.10.2015

Contact lessons 70 h, independent studing and preparation to tests 74 h and tests and feedback 6 h.

Rubber production methods 35 h and plastics production methods 35 h.

Student knows on basic level the most important methods and concepts of industrial production techniques in plastic and rubber industry.
Assessment criteria - good (3-4) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)
Student knows well the most important methods and concepts of industrial production techniques in plastic and rubber industry. He also knows some special methods like gas aided and two shot injection moulding and can make basic technical calculations.

Student knows very well the most important methods and concepts of industrial production techniques in plastic and rubber industry. He also knows many special methods like BFS and can make demanding technical calculations.
