Objectives (course unit)

This project management course provides basic theory, practices and tools for setting up and executing a small scale project. The perspective is practical, including teamwork and exercises.

After completing the course, the students will be able to:

Utilize project management tools and practices.
Set up and implement a small scale project.
Act as a project manager.
Act as a team member.
Make project plan.

How to prepare a project plan?
How to manage a project?

Student workload

5 credits total, 2.5cr credits are theory related studies and 2.5 credits are focused on marketing research project. The course time consumption is individual driven and based on marketing research project dedicated. In general, the hours studied are in line with TAMK quidelines.

Period 2 = Project management theory lectures and excercises, exam
Period 3-4 = Marketing research project executed.

The student has not been able to identify the role of project management, student hasn't participated (as part of project team) to execute the marketing research project.

Student obtains the basics of project management phases and utilization in business. His project management team performance is below average.

Student act as an asset in project team, adding expertise and value to meet the project goals. His theoretical knowledle is advanced, with ability to understand and seek for solutions.

The student is able to generate new ideas by discovering solutions regarding complex project management phases. Student acts professionally by having absorbed versified understanding of project management elements. Student is active, having capalities for driving and leading the team.
