Objectives (course unit)
This course is an introduction to company processes and functions in a modern business environment. The aim is to cover the basics for business operations including areas like planning and setting up the business and its funding.
After completing the course, the students will be able to:
Have the insight into functions of modern business environment.
Gain the knowledge of funding the business.
Adopt the principles of business profitability, liquidity and solvency.
Analyze the interdependence of various business variables.
Content (course unit)
What is a company and its business processes ?
What are the basics of business planning?
How are the options for funding the business?
How to evaluate and measure the success of a business ?
What is an organization structure and the typical functions (eg. HR, Accounting, Management)?
What are the basics of marketing and market analysis?
What is the financial environment of a business enterprise?
Exam schedules
A final exam will be held at the end of the course.

Active participation in all classes, active role in class discussions, learning diary and article summaries.
