Objectives (course unit)
The student is able to
- define the most important dimensionless indicators in heat transfer and fluid dynamics
- calculate typical cases of pipe and planar heat exchange
- carry out typical capacity calculations for heat exchangers
- choose insulation for piping, containers etc using optimising programs from the suppliers
Content (course unit)
Forms of heat transfer. Pipe heat exchange and planar heat exchange. Correlation equations in convective heat exchange and Reynold’s analogy. Heat exchangers and their structural differences (air, water).Recovery rate. Radiation heat transfer and visibility coefficients, boiling and condensation.
