Objectives
Students are familiar with politics and policymaking, and with the practices by which citizens, politicians, social movements and various stakeholders participate in politicizing phenomena and affecting decision-making. They are able to examine and evaluate everyday life and local practices as processes in which the social, the economic, the financial and the political become intertwined. Students are able to discuss the nature and the conflicts of democratic society in an ethically sustainable manner and to recognise their own position as future experts and enablers of social participation.
Content
In this module, students learn about key social scientific concepts related to politics, power, and participation, the practices of governance and the politics of everyday life. The teaching offered in this module vary from year to year.
