Objectives
Students will identify different ways of structuring the question of social order in the social sciences. They will understand the positioning and responsibility of the scientific expert as part of social reality. Through experimentation, enrichment and use of the social science imagination, students will learn to look analytically at familiar social phenomena, understanding the interconnectedness of individual lives and social reality.
Content
The course introduces social scientific perspectives to approach and imagine social reality. It reflects on the role of the expert in society and compares different ways of structuring the social order. The course reviews the starting points, perspectives and conceptual frameworks of social science research, works on social scientific imagination and provides practice in using intellectual professionalism to formulate social scientific questions.
