Objectives
Students are able to examine society from the perspectives of non-discrimination, gender equality and intersectionality. They recognize phenomena related to inequalities and discrimination and are able to describe their manifestations and origins. They are able to describe legal and non-discrimination and equality policy measures for preventing discrimination.
Content
Using key concepts from gender studies, students will become familiar with issues of equality and gender equality, inequalities and discrimination. They will gain an overview of how equality and non-discrimination policies and legal regulation aim to prevent discrimination on grounds prohibited by law. Topics covered include gender segregated labour markets and care, sexual harassment and violence, racism, the status of people with disabilities and gender minorities.
