On completion of this course, the student is able to:describe the effects of soil conditions on land use planning in communities describe the founding methods of embankments made of earth and blasted rock and know their application areasdescribe the operating principles of structures used to support pipeline trenchesapply what she/he has learned to the design of the foundation of a road embankment and a supported pipeline trenchdescribe the structural types of earth and waste dams and the most important loadings and design situations in terms of their durabilityexplain the basic principles related to the propagation of vibrations transmitted through the soil from vehicle and train traffic and the transfer of vibrations to structuresdescribe the principles of operation and selection of structures used for stormwater managementdescribe the biological and environmental factors effecting on growth of plants and choose growing medium materials according to the requirements of the application
