Objectives
The student will know and understand the basic concepts and the most important current debates in international relations. They will have an overall understanding of key theories and themes as well as the historical development of the discipline and its place in the field of social science. The student will also form the ability to recognise themes, questions and problematiques typical to the study of IR.
Content
The substantial and institutional development of IR; the key concepts, theories and segments of theory in the discipline; international system; foreign policy and diplomacy; peace and conflict studies; international political economy; social scientific thinking.
