Objectives
After completing the study module, the student will have a good understanding of the various dimensions of well-being and related sustainability issues. The student will be able to critically assess assumptions and policies related to well-being and identify societal structures that produce inequality. The student will be capable of applying welfare theories and practices to address the challenges of sustainable development.
Content
The course deals with sustainable needs satisfaction and welfare provisioning in the context of social-ecological systems. The course explores different ways of understanding well-being and the preconditions for well-being, and innovates new societal solutions for promoting well-being within planetary boundaries.
