Objectives
Student understands the nature of international human rights treaties and other legal instruments and their legal consequences. Student understands what kind of human rights treaties or instruments exist and what kind of protection human rights law affords. Student knows the reporting systems and complaint procedures of the UN human rights system as well as the functioning principles of the European Court of Human Rights and other European human rights mechanisms. Student holds an overall view of the position of human rights within international law and domestic law.
