Objective of course
Students view the nature of surgical nursing. Students become aware of the most important functional disorders caused by surgical diseases / injuries / procedures and of the problems they cause to adult patients. They are able to establish a constructive nursing relationship with the patient. Students are capable of helping and supporting indi-viduals and their families to improve their health and wellbeing. They know the basics of physiotherapy and occupational therapy in surgical nursing. They master the essential clinical nursing methods and are capable of adapting their theoretical knowledge in surgical nursing, surgery and pharmacology during their supervised clinical training.

Students familiarize themselves with the nature of surgical nursing. They form a comprehensive idea of nursing process in surgical nursing situations.
They are aware of the most important functional disorders caused by different diseases and of the problems they cause to the adult patient. Students are aware of clinical nursing methods, master the essential ones and are able to apply them individually in surgical nursing.
They are able to enter into a constructive nursing relationship with the patient. Students acquire skills to support the patient in self-care. They apply nursing principles in the selection and use of different nursing methods. Students master the main communicative and interactive skills required of a member of nursing community.
