Physical Chemistry and Laboratories (4cr)
Course unit code: PTK-K31
General information
- Credits
- 4 cr
Objectives
The students understand phase equilibriums and are able to apply them in the mass transfer processes. The students know the surface and colloid chemistries and the basics of electrochemistry and are able to apply them in solving practical problems. The laboratory work gives the students the skills needed to use physical-chemical measurement devices and to supplement their theoretical skills. The students are able to work in groups and to write reports. The course in physical chemistry gives the students the basis for professional development.
Content
Compound thermodynamics, phase equilibrium of 2 component compounds, theory of distillation methods, adsorption and colloids, electrochemistry and its applications. Laboratory work about phase equilibrium, electrochemistry, reaction kinesthetics and surface chemistry.
