Objectives
International Business students can carry out a part of their studies as project studies. The projects are defined in advance for the credit count, costs and duration. The projects are commissioned e.g. by local companies or by TAMK University of Applied Sciences (the team projects come from actual companies and the students themselves).

Before a project starts the following aspects must be defined:
- timetable and duration
- scope of project in credit units
- contents
- reporting requirements
- project budget
- project supervisor and/or teacher responsible
Examples of projects just to mention a few:
- a research project, such as marketing research or a customer survey
- arranging a fair or a promotional event
- planning and realisation of webpages
- designing and updating of databases
Upon course completion, the students will
1. have experience in real projects and have increased ability to carry out a project, from project approval and planning to control and implementation;
2. have had consolidation and further development of existing disciplinary knowledge through application in a real life situation;
3. have further development of personal transferable skills in terms of communication and group work;
4. be more effective in use of (virtual) learning environments, project management software tools, and IT in general.
Content
- basics of project management from e.g. an international, integrated perspective (planning, control, and implementation;
- e.g. marketing, design and/or engineering issues in research and development projects,
- product improvement, new product development, feasibility study and business plan
- interrelationship of project management with change management, entrepreneurship, and corporate strategy
