Objectives
The students understand the laws governing the dynamical behaviour of mechanical systems and can utilize them to avoid problems caused by vibration.
Content
Basic concepts and mathematical models in vibration analysis. The components of a discrete vibrating system. The natural and forced vibration of single degree-of-freedom system. The equations of motion of multiple degree-of-freedom system using the Newton’s and Lagrange’s equations. The natural and forced vibration of multiple degree-of-freedom system. Isolation and damping of vibrations.
