Objectives

The students learn to discuss naturally and positively. They get practice in using appropriate expressions in different situations and learn culturally appropriate discussion topics. The students are able to acquire and use new information and want to develop their own expertise.

Aqcuired level of competence: B2 (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

Content

Learning about the culture of German speaking countries (D ? A - CH), the societies and their phenomena and business life, also based on the interest and suggestions of the course members. Taking into account risks deriving from German and Finnish in oral communication situations, argumentation strategies, differences in business customs in German speaking countries, giving information about Finland, discussion exercises with German exchange students.

Prerequisites

Basic German / Intermediate German / German for Economics. The course may also be taken simultanenously with Intermediate German or German for Economics.

Literature: To be announced at the beginning of the course.

Teaching methods: Contact lessons, collaborative exercises in an audiovisual learning environment support applying the skills learned.
Language of tuition: Mainly German
Year: 2nd/3rd year of studies.
