Objectives

To interpret aerial photographs and make maps using relevant methods. To apply remote sensing in land use planning.

Content

Principles of remote sensing, electromagnetic radiation and aerial photography, visual interpretation of aerial images, applications of remote sensing for land use planning, making maps using relevant methods, ordinary maps and numeric maps and images used in land use planning, remote sensing and mapping for GIS applications. Volume calculation, area calculation, coordinate calculations, elevation surveyings, rectangular mapping.

Literature: Will be announced in the beginning of the course Educational methods: teach-in, series of lectures, self study/distance learning, exercises, assignments, practical work, exam, collective learning, net learning, field-work (incl. study trips) and group exam.
