Objectives

The aim of the practical training is to offer a structured familiarisation to practical job tasks in the field of construction engineering and give the students the ability to apply their skills and knowledges in practice. Another aim is to combine theory with practice and give the students a realistic view on the demands and practices of the field. The more detailed content demands for practical training are defined in the degree programme training instructions.

The students must participate in the coaching for practical training before the actual training period. The participation is a prerequisite for beginning the practical training.

Content

Quality demands of the practical training, contracts and procedures, reporting and other practices, information about employment and gaining a practical training place.

The course Coaching for practical training consists of practical training information events organised by the student body, instructions before the first training period and degree programme specific information events.

Further information

Senior lecturer Harri Miettinen coordinates the practical training in the degree programmes in Construction Engineering. The teacher in charge of the practical training during the first two years of study is laboratory engineer Hannu Aarikka.
