Objectives

The student know the economic and ecological reasons behind the decisions on how to manage a young stand or a thinning stand. The students can define the quality of young stand management and thinning. The students are able to use and maintain a chain-saw and a clearing saw in forestry operations. The students can plan their work on a young stand management area or a thinning stand and at the same time take into consideration silvicultural, environmental and work safety aspects.

Content

Planning and implementation of young stand management, use and maintenance of chain saw and clearing
saw, financial subsidies, planning and realisation of thinnings, forest fertilisation.

Further information

First aid course should be passed before practical training.
