Objective of course
Students master the accompaniment of hymns and liturgical chant melodies on the organ (including transposition) and have the ability to use different types of accompaniment. They have also acquired additional skills for the different forms of divine service and ecclesiastical services realized in the practical liturgical training.

Course contents
" history of liturgical playing
" basics of harmonisation
" exercises in concentration
" becoming acquainted with liturgical material
" interaction between improvised and written material
The chorale: All the hymns of the hymnal are played
" in the written key, also singing simultaneously
" in trio
" transposing a semitone and a whole tone up and down
" combining two of the following: in trio, song, transposition
Liturgical chant melodies:
" playing the melody series in the written key and in transposition (semi and whole tone up and down), also singing simultaneously
" realizing different forms of divine and ecclesiastical services in the practical liturgical training as a chorister, reader of texts, celebrant, cantor etc.

Individual lessons, independent work, practical liturgical training

Assessment methods
An examination that includes
" a prepared part: 10 hymns accepted by the teacher and their written preludes and two liturgical chant melody series to be chosen freely
" a prima vista part: hymns chosen by the assessors
" sufficient participation in the practical liturgical training

Organ structure and maintenance and liturgical playing 1
Liturgical studies 3 (the course can be studied at the same time)
