Objective of course
Students have the skills successfully conduct ambitious amateur or student choirs. They have a fluent and expressive conducting technique and a good musical, psychological and pedagogical understanding of the instrument.

Course contents
Conducting technique: a technically solid, expressive and communicative gestural language, Rehearsing a choir, guiding vocal production and forming the choral sound, analysis of choral works, score playing and choral psychology and pedagogy. Rehearsing and conducting a choir, including the student's own choir.

Teaching methods
Individual lessons, group instruction and working with the Näsin Ääni chamber choir.

Assessment methods
A demonstration of progress with Näsin Ääni (demonstration of rehearsing, 10 minutes and conducting a work). Feedback from a jury.

S X0454-8 Main instrument C3 (option choral conducting)
