Objective of course
Students have reached a freedom from playing strictly according to written music. They have furthered their practical musical skills and are acquainted with accompanying pieces of different styles on the piano. They have developed their prima vista skills and are acquainted with improvisation.

- accompaniment from chord symbols in different musical styles
- accompaniment from different textures according to possibilities offered by own instrument
- prima vista playing
- transposition
- harmonisation of melodies
- improvisation
- writing of arrangements and transcriptions

Individual instruction, ensemble, independent work

Assessment methods
Examination: accompaniment from chord symbols, a prima vista assignment, transposition assignment, harmonisation of a melody
