Objective of course
Students have acquainted themselves with the central methods of music instruction. They learn to understand the philosophical background of music education methods as well as the significance of these methods in children's musical development. Students have the ability to assess diverse methods critically and are capable of applying them to their own teaching.

Course contents
Becoming acquainted with the Kodály, Suzuki, Dalcroze, Orff and Montessori methods.
Specialists of these methods will be used as teachers, if possible.

Teaching methods
Contact teaching, individual and group assignments, written assignments, independent work.

Assessment methods
Self-evaluation, peer review and the teacher´s assessment

X111A4-8 Introduction to teaching music 2
