Objective of course
Students have accrued knowledge and skills through research on teaching. They understand scientific information as part of their professional skills and have a positive attitude to research; they have the ability to read studies and understand the findings of research. Students are informed on the ethical demands on research and take these into account. They summarise their earlier learning process into a development report. They understand the ethical questions concerning teaching and are able to assess the development of their own education philosophy during their studies.

Course contents
- introduction to research-oriented working method, foundations of research
- introduction to philosophical thinking
- ethics of the teacher
- special learning needs and the challenges of a multi-cultures environment
- equality and unrestrictedness of learning

Teaching methods
Contact teaching, individual and group assignments, written assignments, independent work and possible excursions, lectures, discussion and demonstrations.

Assessment methods
Self-evaluation, peer review and assessment by teacher. Participation, portfolios.
