Objective of course
Students are acquainted with the pedagogy of music theory, the contents of basic level music theory and have an understanding of group dynamics. They also have an understanding of the possibilities offered by computer programs and web-sites to teaching music theory.

Course contents
- contents and methods of music theory on the music school and institute levels
- dynamics of group teaching
- use of information technology in teaching music theory
- observation in groups and discussion

Teaching methods
Group instruction, demonstrations, summaries of literature, independent work, observation and reporting

Assessment methods
Teacher assessment of skills shown in teaching and independent work.
