-will be able to choose a suitable plastic for a particular use
-will be able to prepare polymers in laboratory
-will able to test physical properties of plastics
-will be able to identify polymers and analyze their structures with spectrometric and chromatographic methods

-synthesis of polymers by step and chain polymerization
