Orchestral Academy 1 (2 - 6cr)

Objectives

Students improve their competence in the following fields:

-orchestral playing
-active listening skills
-playing in a section. following and leading
-playing in ensembles of different sizes
-orchestra musician´s practice, work moral and wellbeing.
-preparation for auditions and for the professional world

Content

-co-operation with the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra. Professional orchestra musicians work as coaches.
-professional training within the Tampere Phil. and the orchestras of the Finnish Defense Forces
-different kinds of productions, from chamber music to opera.
-different ensembles and styles
-repertoire lessons
-orchestral excerpts lessons
-seminars
-mock auditions

Assessment criteria, pass/fail

-active participation
-responsibility
-preparation for the productions and the lessons
-professional approach to orchestral musician´s work moral
