Objectives

The student
-masters the central skills of the individual nursing of emergency and high dependency unit patients
-is able to act safely and in an ethically correct manner
-is able to demonstrate nursing expertise in nursing of emergency and high dependency unit patients
-utilises the quality assessment methods for his/her own work and that of the workplace

Orientation practice in diverse emergency and high dependency unit situations

Prerequisites: participation in course Nursing Care of Emergency and High Dependency Unit Patient.

Assessment criteria, pass/fail

Pass
The student
-is able to plan and implement the nursing of emergency and high dependency unit patients safely
-is able to act professionally and in accordance with ethical principles

Fail
The student
- puts patient safety at risk
- is not able to act professionally and in accordance with ethical principles
