Objectives
The student:
- is able to apply medical and other scientific knowledge in emergency care for adults and children
- is able to interpret abnormalities in the electrocardiogram (ECG) as the basis for a preliminary diagnosis in adult and children treatment
- knows the underlying causes of gynaecological pain
- recognises the potential problems of early pregnancy
- is able to deliver a child outside the hospital
- recognises obstetric emergency situations
- knows the special features of children's fluid therapy
- is able to act in acute situations involving an ill child of different ages

The student
- knows the basics of cardiology, obstetrics and paediatric diseases
- is able to interpret abnormalities in the ECG as the basis for a preliminary diagnosis
- knows the guiding principles of care decisions when taking care of gynaecological patients, pregnant clients or clients in labour, and newborn babies
- knows about obstetric emergency situations and knows how to deliver a baby outside the hospital
- knows the basic principles of children's fluid therapy
- is able to describe in general the treatment of ill children of different ages in acute situations
Assessment criteria, good (3-4)
The student
- knows the basics of cardiology, obstetrics and paediatric diseases
- is able to interpret abnormalities in the ECG as the basis for a preliminary diagnosis
- is able to describe the principles guiding care decisions based on evidence-based knowledge when taking care of gynaecological patients, pregnant clients or clients in labour, and newborns
- is able to describe activities in obstetric emergency situations and delivery outside the hospital
- knows the principles of children's fluid therapy
- is able to describe the activities in acute care situations of children of different ages and is able to act accordingly

The student
- is able to apply knowledge of cardiology, obstetrics and pediatric diseases in emergency care
- is able to interpret abnormalities in the ECG as the basis for a preliminary diagnosis
- is able to apply the principles which guide the care decisions when taking care of gynaecological patients, pregnant clients or clients in labour, and newborns
- is able to apply knowledge in obstetric emergency situations and in the delivery of a baby outside the hospital
- masters the principles of children's fluid therapy
- is able to apply the principles guiding care decisions in acute situations involving ill children of different ages and to act in accordance with them
