Content
The course introduces the basic components and structures of embedded microcontroller systems from an electronics design perspective. It covers the basics of circuit board design and packaging, as well as electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) design principles. Students design and implement a simple electronic device that includes a self-designed circuit board and packaging.
Prerequisites
Älykkäät järjestelmät, Älykkäät järjestelmät jatko
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)
The student
recognizes basic components and knows how to implement a given circuit board
understands the importance of encapsulation and EMC design, but the application is partial
the exercise is functional but requires development in terms of design or implementation
Assessment criteria, good (3-4)
In addition to the above, the student
can design a simple circuit board and make justified component choices
considers enclosure and EMC aspects in the design
the exercise is technically functional and documented in an understandable way
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
In addition to the above, the student
demonstrates strong overall control in the design and implementation of the printed circuit board and housing
applies the principles of EMC design appropriately and with justification
the exercise work is completed, well documented and of technical quality
