Objectives

Students can, in basic clinical training
-use radiological equipment and auxiliary equipment independently and safely
-use the key concepts related to x-ray examinations and x-ray projections
-perform the most common x-ray examinations of extremities and body
-evaluate x-ray images according to criteria of a good x-ray picture and name the most common anatomical structures
-use radiation shields appropriately in x-ray examinations and act according to radiation safety
-plan, implement and evaluate x-ray examination
-act aseptically
-act ergonomically
-work responsibly and perform given tasks carefully
-evaluate their own learning

-x-ray examinations
-the criteria of good x-ray picture
-working radiation safely
-aseptic working
-ergonomic working, moving patients

Prerequisites

-adequate knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
-adequate knowledge of radiation physics, imaging technique and radiography in x-raying

Assessment criteria, pass/fail

Pass:
-can carry out x-ray examinations of the skeleton and body according to the referral
-can guide a patient
-can name the criteria of a good x-ray picture from x-ray pictures
-acts aseptically and ergonomically
-acts according to radiation safety
-participates actively in all training classes

Fail:
-cannot carry out x-ray examinations of the skeleton and body according to the referral
-cannot name the criteria of a good x-ray picture from x-ray pictures
-does not participate in all training classes
-withdraws from learning situations repeatedly
