Objectives

Students have an understanding of the characteristics of various instruments and voices and of the practises in writing music for them.
They are skilled in score reading.
They are familiar with the principles and practises of arranging and are able adopt these to writing music.

Students have learning skills and innovation skills.

Content

- properties of the most commonly used instruments and practises in writing music for them
- score reading exercises
- arrangement exercises for bands and choirs
- literature according to the needs of the teacher
- the focal points of different course implementations may vary in conjuction with the needs of the various study paths

The course will strenthen learning skills an innovating skills (creative problem solving, the usability of ideas, acquisition and retrieval of information, improvement of own skills, work planning and reflection).
