Music Education in a Parish (3cr)

Objectives

Students understand the main features, principles and aims of care and education, especially music education of the church, and are able to utilize the knowledge. They are familiar with aggregate planning of confirmation class and the role of church music in it.
Students are able to carry out music instruction duties in a confirmation class and draw up care and education plans which incorporate both the objectives of the church and the needs and expectations and conditions of the participants.

Students have become familiar with the most central teaching methods. They have learning and ethical skills.

Content

- familiarization with the objectives of the care and education, and music education supplied by the church
- a rich implementation of the music education package in a corfirmation class plan
- planning and implementation of an education session

Students have the skills to:

- assess and improve their skills and learning skills
- have a critical approach to information acquisition and the retrieval of it
- perform their work duties according to the principles of work ethics
- take responsibility of the group´s learning and its sharing of the obtained knowlegde
- take resposibility of their own action and the consequences of it
