Innovation Course, Summer Camp (5cr)

Objectives

The aim of this course is to make Prakatemia and Tiimiakatemia students learn, search for new information and to innovate together – this working must be based on the theme of the course.

Students are able to find information from literature, corporates and other sources and to combine these to create a big picture of the theme subject. This work is done in multi-cultural teams and students learn simultaneously about working culture in different countries.

Students gather to a week-lasting intensive course to innovate new kinds of solutions to the customer’s problem.

Students also learn to use different innovation techniques and to understand how to present the solution to the customer.

Content

Searching information and learning by writing a joint esseay in a small group.
What kind of differences are there in working cultures, business lives and ways of doing things in different countries?
The meaning of communication for teamwork?
How to use innovation techniques to find better solutions.

Prerequisites

First year’s studies, studies in Proakatemia or in Tiimiakatemia

Further information

The evaluation of the module is based on the pre-assingments and team solutions where small groups of students innovate and present their solutions to customers problem. This solution will be evaluated by the customer representative and a coach. The module will be assessed with a pass/fail mark.
