Objectives

The student
-is able to monitor vital signs;
-is trained in patient education and patient care;
-knows how to apply the principles of aseptic practice and is able to follow standard infection control precautions.

Content

-patient education in self-care
-hospital CPR
-caring for surgical wounds
-surgical dressings and bandaging
-care of patients in a cast

Prerequisites

alkuvaiheen opinnoista 50 op suoritettuna, sisältäen opintojakson lääkehoito ja lääkelaskut sekä osallistuminen sisätautipotilaan hoitotyö ja kirurgisen potilaan hoitotyö opintojaksoihin
