Objectives

The student
- knows the Finnish Emergency care system and the legislation and the regional and nationwide guidelines
- knows the social and ethical principles of Emergency Care
- recognises and knows how to minimize the risks of health and safety, communication, protection agains infections, emergency care eguipment, medication
- can evaluate the situation and using the ABCDEF-protocoll examine the patient, recognize the needs of emergency care
- on the basic level of emergency care can interview the patient and make a preliminary working diagnosis
- documents emergency care according to procedure
- extinguishes small fires in emergency situations
- knows how to ensure the safety of a site

- Emergency Care system
- Health and Safety in Emergency Care, risk assessment
- examine the patient (ABCDEF) and preliminary working diagnosis
- interviewing, documenting and reportint (SBAR)
- ambulance and emergency care equipment
- the care chain of emergency patient; cooperation with other authorities
- the safety transportation of patient
