COMPETENCES DEVELOPED
It is possible to update, deepen and extend one’s professional competence by means of the master’s degree. In the Master’s Degree Programme in Health Promotion, it is possible to focus on either health care of ageing and long-term patients or occupational health care. The advanced studies in health care of ageing and long-term patients educate experts on health promotion of ageing and long-term patients for social and health care organisations. They can develop work communities and practices and/or work as superiors. The advanced studies in occupational health care educate experts on health and wellbeing promotion of working-age population for social and health care organisations. They can develop work communities and/or work as superiors.
The master’s degree offers the same qualification for posts and positions in the public sector as master’s degrees completed in universities.
PROFESSIONAL STATUS
The degree programme gives qualifications to work as manager, expert or developer in health promotion of ageing and long-term patients or occupational health care.

The degree programme aims at promoting health and wellbeing by educating experts and immediate superiors who value health care of ageing and long-term patients / occupational health care.
IMPLEMENTATION
The studies can be complemented in 1.5 years along with work. Blended learning and web-based pedagogy are utilised. There are on average two or three contact teaching days monthly, and the rest is independent study. Due to the blended learning method, the studies can be completed along with work. The studies are free of charge.
