Objectives
The student:
-knows the principles and practices of managing even-aged forests
- knows the regulations and recommendations concerning forest stand management and knows how to take them into account when managing the forest
Content
Different alternatives of stand management and their implementation in even-aged stand. Young stand management planning and prcatical work. Planning of thinnings and use of thinning models. Management of nutrients and forest fertilization. Main regulations concerning forest stand management. Financial subsidy system of young stand management. Recommendations for silviculture and nature management.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)
The student is able to perform silivcultural work under guidance. He knows the forest management recommendations, but does not very well know the basis of the recommendations. The student is still uncertain in his silvicultural proposals
Assessment criteria, good (3-4)
The student is able to make forest management suggestions independently using forest management recommendations and other source material. The student is able to use the clearing saw in young stand management quite effectively and ergonomically. He is familiar with the research and literature information on which the forestry recommendations are based on.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student is able to independently make forest management suggestions and justify them based on forest management recommendations and research knowledge, which he / she is well acquainted with. He is able to apply the recommendations in different situations.
