The students learn the basics of environmental engineering and technology and become familiar with the related objectives and problems.
The student understands the themes of responsibility related to the environment and the possibilities of influencing them in infrastructure construction.

The student recognizes the basic concepts of environmental engineering. He/ she knows how to name the most important aspects of environmental engineering and the problems in terms of the built environment. The student can list various remediation measures that can be used to rehabilitate contaminated soil, groundwater and waterways.
The student knows different options for how traffic noise can be combated.
The student knows the priority order of waste management goals.
The student can list various by-products used in land construction and recognize terms related to the carbon footprint.
Assessment criteria, good (3-4)
In addition to the previous one, the student knows and can explain concepts related to environmental engineering.
The student knows and can explain how contaminated soil, groundwater and waterways can be rehabilitated.
The student can compare different traffic noise control solutions in different situations.
The student can tell about the different forms of treatment related to waste management.
The student recognizes the possibilities and limitations of the by-products used in earthworks in terms of materials and objects.
The student understands the principles of emission calculations.

In addition to the previous one, the student can compare different remediation measures regarding the remediation of contaminated soil, groundwater and waterways.
The student has a broad understanding of the challenges of restoration measures and understands the importance of preventing environmental pollution.
The student knows how to compare and choose the form of waste management and by-product in land construction that is suitable for different conditions and objects.
The student can make a simple emission calculation for the infrastructure or work phase.
