Objectives
The study course deepens the basic knowledge of infrastructure construction production methods acquired in other study courses. Production methods are examined in a versatile way so that the student knows how to apply the methods to different conditions and knows how to acquire information about the capacities, cost factors, etc. needed for work planning.
Content
The study course complements the production methods such as screening, crushing, drilling and injection work that are presented in detail in other study courses (e.g. civil engineering and foundation construction).
The big entity to be studied is improving the carrying capacity of the main road network by stabilizing it.
In addition, numerous other production methods of infrastructure construction are discussed.
Crushing works and the equipment used in the work, processing of aggregates and price formation in crushing works.
Dredging works are handled by bucket dredgers, vacuum dredgers and multipurpose machines, as well as dredging from a barge with excavators.
Drilling work focuses on methods of anchoring etc. drilling using protective pipes, as well as directional drilling and their application possibilities.
In addition, the course includes an overview of the special logistical issues of the construction site, i.e. mainly lifts and the use and design of support equipment for trenches, frost melting methods, etc.
