Description
As an financial management -oriented Bachelor of Business Administration, you have up-to-date basic knowledge of business administration as well as special expertise in financial management. You know how to work in networks, and you work sustainably and innovatively utilizing the opportunities of digitalisation. You can also develop your own and your work community's expertise.
Contents
Education is a form of part-time studies, consisting of close and distance learning. Distance learning is learning through literature and various learning tasks, as well as online learning using digital tools and remote access. You can connect your studies to your own work through projects, development tasks, thesis and practical training, among other things. You can credit the applicable higher education studies and previous skills you have completed in the past. You have the opportunity to qualify for an internship or to complete it in your own job if the job is in the field of education and it is at the levels of bachelor levels.
Structure of studies
The scope of Degree Programme in Business Administration is 210 credits. The completion time of the degree is 3.5 years, but the completion time can be even shorter depending on your previous knowledge or faster progress of studies.
The degree is divided into the following entities: basic and professional studies (120 ECTS), elective professional studies (30 ECTS), free-choice studies (15 ECTS), practical training (30 ECTS) and thesis (15 ECTS).
Thesis
In your thesis, you will demonstrate your ability to apply your knowledge and skills independently in a practical expert position related to your studies. A thesis is usually a design or development project commissioned by a company or community. You get the subject of the thesis yourself. The thesis can also be done as a pair or group work and it can be integrative in different fields, but the topic must nevertheless be related to the competence of the financial management.

Degree Programme in Business Adminstration is wide-ranging. The know-how of Bachelor of Business Administration who have studied economics is valued and there is a wide demand for them in the labour market. Possible future job titles include:

As you gain experience in working life, you can work as a business controller, financial or finance manager, financial or finance director, or in other expert, foreman, manager and management positions in the private or public sector that require business expertise.
Internationalization
As a student at TAMK, you can complete part of your degree abroad at our partner universities, of which there are over 300 in more than 50 countries. You can also get yourself an internship in any country. At TAMK, the international atmosphere is guaranteed by hundreds of foreign degree and exchange students from all over the world. Other ways to acquire language and cultural competence include language studies, tutoring for foreign students, friend family activities, English language courses, and international projects and projects.
Postgraduate study opportunities
You have the opportunity to apply for higher of university applied sciences degree once you have acquired at least two years of work experience in the field after completing the degree. The education also provides an opportunity to continue studies in, for example, university master's programmes.

The main objective of the education is to provide you with a broad range of capabilities to operate in the business world, especially in economic related areas now and in the future. You'll take over the latest economic sector tools and applications. Through practical working life projects, events and internships, you will create contacts and your own network in the private and public sectors. It is also possible for you to include the study modules required for your degree in auditing.
Curriculum development and working life cooperation
Education is planned and implemented in cooperation with working life.
As a degree programme student at TAMK, you also have the opportunity to choose studies from the offerings of the University of Tampere in accordance with your personal study plan. Through this cross-institutional studies, you can participate in university courses, joint projects and thus build your individual competence. You can also complete studies at other universities of applied sciences through the Cross-Institutional Study Information Service.
