Objectives
The aim of the Getting Started on the Thesis (5 cr) is to enable the students to prepare for the thesis in accordance with the thesis process. In addition, the aim is for the students to find the topic of their theses, to prepare a topic analysis and to start the thesis work.
After completing the course the students
- are able to narrow down the topic of the thesis
- can choose a suitable research and data collection method
- are able to plan their thesis work.
Content
The orientation studies of the thesis are a compulsory part of the course. The course is carried out largely online.
The students chooses the topic themselves. The thesis should be a practical assignment for working life, or a project that benefits the working life. The students prepare a topic analysis for the thesis coordinator.
The coordinator appoints a supervisor to each student. The students will continue the topic analysis into a Bachelor's thesis plan, approved by the supervisor.
Assessment criteria, pass/fail
Pass
The supervisor has accepted the Bachelor's thesis plan. The thesis work plan has been drawn up in accordance with the instructions and is feasible.
Fail
The student's thesis plan cannot yet be accepted.
