Objectives

The goal of this course is to deepen expertise in nursing and develop basic competencies in the development and leadership of nursing.

Upon completing the course, the student will
• identify their own skills in development, innovation, and research, and deepen their expertise in nursing in one area
• be able to proactively and innovatively develop nursing in response to the needs of society and the workplace.
• be able to search for and apply region-specific and targeted information related to health and well-being in the planning and development of nursing.
• be able to work in multidisciplinary workgroups and networks.

Content

• Development of evidence-based nursing and health promotion
• Utilization of research and project results, as well as information related to health and well-being, in the planning and development of nursing.
• Multidisciplinary collaboration with stakeholders in nursing
• Self-management and independent work.

Prerequisites

The thesis process has begun. The student has participated in one theoretical study unit of the public health nursing profession studies and one supervised practical training of the public health nursing profession studies.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

• The student identifies their own development, innovation, and research skills in one area but does not deepen their expertise sufficiently.
• The student develops nursing in response to the needs of society and the workplace, but their initiative and innovation may be limited.
• The student searches for and applies regional and targeted health-related information, but their skills are limited.
• The student works in multidisciplinary workgroups and networks, but their collaboration skills may be lacking.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

• The student identifies their own development, innovation, and research skills in one area and deepens their expertise successfully.
• The student proactively and innovatively develops nursing in response to the needs of society and the workplace.
• The student searches for and applies regional and targeted health-related information comprehensively in nursing planning and development.
• The student actively works in multidisciplinary workgroups and networks, demonstrating strong collaboration skills.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

• The student identifies their own development, innovation, and research skills and deepens their expertise excellently in one area.
• The student proactively and innovatively develops nursing, producing significant results for society or the workplace.
• The student searches for and applies regional and targeted health-related information comprehensively and critically in nursing planning and development.
• The student actively and proactively works in multidisciplinary workgroups and networks, demonstrating strong collaboration skills.
