The objective of the course is to enhance clinical skills in various patient care situations.

After completing the course, the student
• Can examine patients following the ABCDE protocol.
• Can perform essential clinical care procedures.
• Can respond to emergencies involving patients of different ages.
• Understands the fundamentals of safe medication and fluid management.
• Can act while considering patient safety.

• Handling various treatment-related procedures
• Initiating resuscitation

Prerequisites

The student has participated in mid-phase nursing studies courses.

Assessment criteria, pass/fail

Pass: The student
• Actively participates in patient care.
• Knows how to act in emergency situations.
• Can perform various treatment-related procedures.
• Can function as a team member.


Fail: The student
• Does not know how to perform treatment-related procedures.
• Acts in emergency situations so that endangers the patient's life.
• Behaves inappropriately in the situation.
• Does not know how to function as a team member.
