Objectives

In this course, we deepen our understanding of the principles, client processes, work orientations, phenomena, and special issues related to child protection.

Upon completing this course, the student will:
• Understand the principles of child protection law in both preventive and child- and family-specific child protection
• Be able to identify individual support needs and resources within families and consider them as a basis for their work
• Analyze the specific aspects of substitute care in daily life and incorporate them into their pedagogical practices across various forms of substitute care
• Recognize the role and significance of multi-agency collaboration and systemic approaches in child protection work

• Work Orientations and Methods in Preventive Child Protection, as well as Open, Substitute, and Aftercare in Child Protection
• Phenomena and Special Issues in Child Protection
